Our Magnum call was the idea of Eric Sullivan. Once he shared this idea with the rest of us, we immediately went to work on this call. Hours and hours of research and development went into this call. Simply put, this call ROCKS!! The Magnum is shaped to resemble the cylinder of a .44 Magnum. This call speaks to the true hunter in all of us. The Magnum is a great long range call, but it also produces soft, smooth yelps and purrs when that bird is closing the distance. Early on, Derby City decided that we wanted to be different. We did not want to settle for the same look that most calls offered. With the technology available to us, we decided that we wanted to add some style to our calls. First and foremost, the calls had to sound great. With that in mind, Derby City came up with its first design. It is called the Spur. The Spur design is much more appealing to look at than a regular pot. Most importantly, we got the sound right. This is a great looking and awesome sounding call. The Spur is now made with the same outside ports that are on our Magnum call. This makes it very easy to cradle in your hands.
